DASHIELL HEDAYAT
OBSOLETE
SHANDAR 10009-1971 - FR

Dashiell Hedayat record cover After one record with the name 'Melmoth , the writer Jack Alain Leger alias Dashiell Hedayat , well known in Paris underground circles at the end of the 60's, recorded this LP, a sort of tribute to the hippy era.
This album is a lisergic trip into the land of acid with strange sex adventures with the help of the best Gong (Daevid Allen, Didier Malherbe, Pip Pyle, Gilly Smith, Christian Tritsch) and, as guest, the psychedelic writer William Burroughs and the Robert Wyatt son, Sam.
Obsolete is a great record, not unlike 'Continental circus' of Daevid Allen and 'Camembert electrique' of Gong with the killer Dashiell's voice. This record is sold at 40 US Dollars but it's underrated by the collectors and the funs. It's easy to meet it in some French records fair, and if you find it, buy it!
