AMERICAN MUSIC CLUB
THE RESTLESS STRANGER
GRIFTER GR 001- 1985 - US

American Music Club record cover A great US record of the 80's, which is rated as one of the best of the decade, like the Savage Republic one. The group started to play punk rock and here we still can find some little infuences but it's mellow and well produced.
Looking at the macabre cover we can guess there is a sad feeling and the voice, sometimes, looks like a disperate howl too.
The tracks of this album are sometimes acoustic ballads and sometimes acid rock pieces with great guitar distortions remembering the old good californian psychedelia .
Two great tracks overall: Room Above The Club and Point of desire .
As usual, when the band became great selling many copies of records, its leader Mark Eitzel denied this one, but it doesn't matter because it exists and it will be forever.
This masterpiece is sold at 20 US dollars and it's recommended, few groups made a such beautiful record like this one in the '80's.
